What’s A Faatherton?

•April 15, 2008 • 1 Comment

You tell me. I was surfing the net and came across some forum called Mohawk or something like that. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the board is composed of people ranging from ages 23-30 something (which is fine, we were all young once.) But the name of one of my favorite bands popped up in the form of rather cynical question: what’s a Foghat? I smiled because my first response was: “I don’t know. What’s a Faatherton?”

I ran across the name “Faatherton” before I did Foghat. It turns out that it is the name of a band. No offense intended, but I have yet to check out their music. I am sure that they are wonderful and their songs probably have “substance” written all over them, and I am sure that none of them have had help from a famous Daddy; I’m simply saying-I don’t know where the name derived from. But if anyone out there knows, I can’t wait to hear from you.

Even if no one can answer my question, this is a “Foghat.” It was started by a guy who used to be in a band called “What’s a Savoy Brown”, from an era that I think produced some pretty decent music (and I’m not talking Abba, the Beegees or any of that other disco crap.)

So here’s something from “What’s a Foghat.”

And all you boys out there who fancy yourselves to be guitar gods and drummers, pay close attention. You might learn something.

Runaway Bus-Run for your Lives!

Ah, the lovely city of Springfield MO! “Tis a privelege to live in the Ozarks”, they say, Not a bad place to live, if you don’t mind crazy drivers;  especially bus drivers. They own the road in this town. They must.I’ve seen them travel anywhere from 40-60mph through residential areas.I’m not saying that bus drivers get special priveleges, but I’ve never seen a local cop pull over a city or school bus.

I’ll pick on city busses later(providing that this blog isn’t deleted for some kind of violation.)Right now, I’m going to pick on school bus drivers. Some of them are all right; but others-let’s just say that the prequisite for being one is that you have to be a jerk(and that’s being kind.)

If you happen to live in this beautiful town (which I actually happen to like. When you are stuck someplace, you really have no other choice), and you are as fed up as I am, scroll down.

Things to Consider Before You Enlist

Disclaimer: The author is not making a case for the war or against the war. This is directed to young people, particularly those of high school age, who are considering a military career.

The thing that you have to remember is that high schools are required to allow military recruiters to come to their campuses, or they may lose their federal funding. Furthermore, recruiters will tell you anything to get you to sign on that dotted line. Nothing personal against these fine people, but that is how they keep their jobs.
